  • NEWSBYTE: CPSC Staff Releases Laboratory Test Manual for Toy Testing Print Page Tell Friend

    July 2010 (10NB-055)

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a testing manual to be used by CPSC staff to assist in testing toys, rattles, pacifiers and other articles intended for use by children 12 years of age and under to their applicable requirements. The manual was developed to describe the tests to be conducted and to outline the proper sequence of product testing in order to provide a uniform method of testing and reporting. The document does not contain any new test methods; however, it does offer clarification and guidelines as well as information on tools and equipment to be used while testing. Bureau Veritas has reviewed the manual and will continue to test in accordance with the established methods.
